There are two ways to ship a car from the USA to Nigeria. The first is RORO (Roll-in/Roll out) shipping, which requires that the car can move by itself because it will be driven to the ship and off it when it gets to Nigeria.

On the other hand, container shipping doesn’t need your car to be in a working condition since it’ll be enclosed in a container.

It’ll be lifted out of it when it gets to Nigeria. This is safer but costlier than RORO shipping.

And for Ro/Ro shipping from the United States to Nigeria, they’re just six. These are: Galveston, Texas, New Jersey and Baltimore, Jacksonville, Florida, Georgia, Portsmouth, Virginia, Bayonne, Savannah, Maryland.

You can either clear your vehicle at Apapa if its container shipping or Tin Can Island if its RORO.
